I will try to be as detailed as possible about how your session will unfold so that you will know exactly what to expect on your first visit with us, or so that you can compare our method of administering the therapy with your previous experience somewhere else.
There are many different types of equipment and techniques when it comes to colonics. Firstly, the way in which each therapist operates the same type of equipment differs widely. Also, the bed-side manner of the therapist can greatly influence your overall experience. Therefore, even though you might already have an unpleasant experience with a particular system, it is probably the performance of the therapist and not the equipment itself that gave you the unsatisfying feeling. Once mastered by a therapist, any system available these days can meet your expectations for the outcome you are trying to achieve.
In my opinion this is the most important detail that you should pay attention to when looking for a place to get your next treatment.

Colonic Irrigation System (from the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)Sec. 876.5220)
Identification. A colonic irrigation system is a device intended to instill water into the colon through a nozzle inserted into the rectum to cleanse (evacuate) the contents of the lower colon. The system is designed to allow evacuation of the contents of the colon during the administration of the colonic irrigation. The device consists of a container for fluid connected to the nozzle via tubing and includes a system which enables the pressure, temperature, or flow of water through the nozzle to be controlled. The device may include a console-type toilet and necessary fittings to allow the device to be connected to water and sewer pipes. The device may use electrical power to heat the water. The device does not include the enema kit (Sec. 876.5210).
Classification. Class II when the device is intended for colon cleansing when medically indicated, such as before radiological or endoscopic examinations.1

Important:
In the section of “Differences between Open and Closed Systems” I have covered a lot of details to clarify all the confusion that is out there about What Is What? and How It Works? Unfortunately, most sites that talk about the differences between Open and Closed equipment are written by colon hydrotherapists who only have personal experience working on one type of system. Therefore, their opinion about the use and effectiveness of the other type of system is unreliable. I have personally administered colon hydrotherapy using both types of systems. Please take time to read that section and educate yourself.

If you are interested to have it done here at New Life Health & Wellness Center please first call to schedule your appointment. Sometimes we can take you right away but there is no guarantee. It is always a good idea to call in advance.
All of our appointments are 90 minutes long, regardless of whether it is a first visit or a follow-up. On your first visit you will get all the information you need plus up to 40-45 minutes of actual cleansing time. On the following visits you can be on the table for up to 1 hour (sometimes even longer).
If you have shopped around, you've probably noticed that most places offer 30 to 45 minute sessions, sometimes even including the consultation time within that time frame. I have seen many people who would start to respond to the treatment (by releasing) only after 15-20 minutes. So, do the math.
I thought I would also mention that even though I desire that you get as much out of your appointment as possible, if for whatever reason you are late we are going to lose that time.

Upon your arrival you will be given an intake form to fill out. There will be a list of contraindications. We provide the list here on the website. If you find yourself having some of the conditions that are listed there, it is going to save you a lot of time and hassle knowing that we would need a doctor's prescription in order for us to proceed with the treatment.
After reviewing your intake form I will spend about 30 minutes answering all your questions and concerns. This will clarify the reason for your visit and what it is that you are trying to achieve, thereby helping us to obtain the best results.
My initial consultations also include a presentation on the treatment procedure.
I am fully aware of how apprehensive most people are before their first colonic. Being tense during the treatment will actually negatively affect the results. That's why it's critical for me to give you 'peace of mind' before we go any further. I can almost guarantee that by the time we finish our consultation, you will be anxious to get started!
After we cover all the details I will give you some tips on how to get on the table and drape yourself, while I step out of the room for your privacy. If for any reason you need my assistance I will be more than glad to help you.
Once you get ready, call me, and I will come back to the room so that we can get started.
I have found a routine that will serve most people. However, every case is different and your session will be tailored to your individual needs.

The treatment begins with an introduction of a gentle, gravity-controlled flow of warm, filtered water into your colon. I will make certain that the setting is suitable for you and that you are relaxed and comfortable. I usually place a heated herbal pad on the abdomen which supports a more complete elimination and provides you with a more soothing experience.
From that point onward, most clients are very comfortable with the setting and appreciate a few minutes of private time. Others prefer to have assistance through the whole session. The device that we use at our facility may also be operated in privacy for those who prefer solitude.
After a few minutes of your private-time while cleansing, I will return to assist you through the rest of the session.
In the section “Differences between Open and Closed Systems”, I cover why we chose to work on the Open System (which is actually more expensive to purchase). It is because it is the most preferable system for the majority of clients. Unfortunately some people strongly believe that COMPLETE colon cleansing is not obtainable with an Open System. The special techniques that I use during a session will allow us to cleanse your ENTIRE colon, and not just a portion of it. Just keep in mind that it usually takes more than one treatment to cleanse the entire 5 to 6 foot-long large intestine. However, this is true for both the Open and Closed Systems (please read the page "How many treatments?")
Also, I have found that a gentle abdominal massage is VERY BENEFICIAL for more complete elimination of waste.
Even though we would both like for you to obtain the results you desire from your first session, sometimes rushing is not a good idea. Your comfort is the priority here, so you will be more open to return. I can only know what your preferences are and what you need during the session if you keep the communication with me open.
At the end of the session I will give you some tips on how to get off the table and I will see you again when you come out of the treatment room. You will be given an electrolyte drink or a probiotic supplement to replenish your intestinal flora.
If you have any additional questions I will be more than glad to cover them with you. And you are ready to go!
